Key Responsibilities
- Shift Leadership: Schedule and assign work to production personnel, ensuring all priorities are met. Monitor operator activities to maintain peak efficiency and strict quality standards.
- Team Development: Train personnel on machinery and procedures. Lead performance management by conducting annual reviews, establishing objectives, and making recommendations for hiring or promotions.
- Operational Control: Focus on controlling materials, labor, and overhead. Manage shift reporting, including machine counts, rejection rates, and material consolidation.
- Quality & Technical Support: Perform sample approvals before production runs and collaborate with engineering on new mold sampling. Ensure all press operations follow exact specifications.
- Safety & Compliance: Act as a safety champion by ensuring all devices are in place before equipment release and maintaining a "hazard-alert" culture on the floor.
- Systems Management: Maintain high involvement with IQMS for production tracking and data accuracy.
- Education: High school diploma or GED.
- Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in molding technology, mechanical principles, and shop mathematics.
- Experience: Previous experience in a manufacturing leadership role is highly preferred.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal communication, project management, and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
