Your role at BHSN:
As a Senior Addictions Counselor, you will be involved in the responsibility of counseling focused on substance abuse related problems. You will assist the Twin Oaks Supervisor in managing the community residence.
Work Schedule: Sunday - Thursday 8:00am-4:00pm, or 8:30am-4:30pm, or 9:00am-5:00pm

What your day might look like:
- Performs comprehensive assessment of new clients, evaluating and diagnosing the client which includes assessing strengths, needs, abilities and preferences
- Develops, in conjunction with the resident and clinical team, strength-based treatment plans addressing the rehabilitative needs
- Provides direct support services with residents both individually and in groups using accepted practices
- Participatory member in all permitted aspects of medication management in accordance with regulatory guidelines
- Maintains accurate, timely documentation over the course of the resident’s episode of care according to regulatory and reimbursement requirements
- Performs other duties as assigned within context of job description
Your skills and qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s preferred
- 3 years’ experience working with adults with addictions preferred
- CASAC-T certification required
- Must obtain Qualified Health Professional (QHP) status of one of the following: CASAC, LCSW, LMSW, LMHC, or RN certification, within one year from date of hire.
- Proficient in 365 Office software and in maintenance of electronic records/charts
- Valid NYS driver’s license and reliable transportation for required local travel
- CPR certification within 6 months of employment
- Must be able to physically move/react quickly, including climbing stairs, in response to situations on all interior floors of the residence and outside
