Key Responsibilities
- Engage individuals with professionalism and empathy to gather intake and medication-related information.
- Verify insurance information accurately and ensure documentation is complete and compliant.
- Schedule intake and medication appointments promptly and communicate expectations clearly.
- Coordinate with referral sources and BHN program staff to ensure timely follow-up and seamless transitions.
- Support triage, provide information and referrals, and identify when a case requires escalation.
- Maintain accurate electronic records and documentation in BHN’s systems.
- Assist callers in accessing the appropriate level of care and community resources.
- Promote a positive, efficient, and person-centered intake experience.
- High School Diploma or GED (required); Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in healthcare, behavioral health, or a call center/intake setting.
- Knowledge of mental health and substance use disorder treatment services.
- Experience with insurance verification and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems (preferred).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a customer-service mindset.
- Proficiency in computer systems, databases, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to manage high-volume calls, multitask, and problem-solve effectively.
- Demonstrated cultural competence and comfort working with diverse populations.
- Candidates must be able to speak Spanish language.
