Position Title: Board Certified Psychiatrist (MD) - Independent Contractor
Description: Behavioral Health Clinic is seeking a qualified board certified MD to provide comprehensive medical and psychiatric care to patients with mental health and co-occurring disorders. This role involves performing psychiatric evaluations, prescribing and managing medications, collaborating with a multidisciplinary treatment team, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered behavioral health care.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry or Family Medicine with Behavioral Health experience.
- Valid and unrestricted state medical license.
- DEA certification for prescribing controlled substances.
- Current CPR/BLS certification.
- Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in behavioral health, psychiatry, or integrated care (preferred).
Overall Responsibilities
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations, diagnostic assessments, and physical examinations for new and existing patients.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions.
- Prescribe, monitor, and adjust medications as needed to achieve optimal therapeutic outcomes.
- Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists, social workers, and nursing staff to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Provide medical consultation with medical staff
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in electronic health records (EHR).
- Ensure all services meet ethical, professional, and regulatory standards, including HIPAA and state behavioral health requirements.
- Stay up to date with developments in psychiatry, psychopharmacology, and behavioral health best practices.
