BCBA – RBT Supervisor Position Type: Full-Time (In-Person)
Location: Baldwin Park and West Covina (San Gabriel Pomona Valley Area)
Position Summary
Behavior Specialist Services, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled BCBA to provide leadership, supervision, and behavioral support across residential facilities, schools, preschools, clinics, and home settings. The BCBA – RBT Supervisor will mentor and supervise RBTs, create training curricula to teach applied behavior analysis (ABA) skills across multiple environments, and ensure consistent, ethical, and evidence-based interventions.
This role requires professionalism, integrity, and independence, with an emphasis on hands-on mentorship and program development.
Key Responsibilities
1. Consultation & Collaboration
- Collaborate with administrators, teachers, staff, and families to implement behavioral strategies.
- Model interventions and provide hands-on guidance to staff , teachers, RBTs,and caregivers.
- Participate in team meetings, IEPs, classroom observations, and case discussions.
- Classroom management support for preschools, school districts, and early intervention centers.
2. Assessments
- Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and collect direct/indirect data.
- Develop Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) tailored to school, home, clinic, or residential settings.
- Monitor progress, adjust interventions as needed, and provide actionable recommendations.
- Complete adaptive living skills assessments and early intervention screenings to help identify service needs, make appropriate referrals, and create effective behavior plans.
- Complete Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and develop comprehensive written reports, as well as prepare quarterly, semi-annual, and annual progress reports to document client progress, outcomes, and ongoing service needs.
3. Mentorship & Training
- Mentor new and existing RBTs, behavior technicians, teachers, and caregivers in behavioral principles.
- Provide coaching, modeling, and performance feedback to support skill development.
- Train staff in crisis prevention, de-escalation, and ethical implementation of interventions.
- Supervise master’s level candidates in clinical and educational settings.
4. Supervision
- Provide on-site supervision for RBTs, ensuring at least 5% of supervision hours per month based on BACB guidelines.
- Conduct direct observations, performance evaluations, and competency assessments.
- Review session notes, offer constructive feedback, and track staff progress.
- Ensure consistent, ethical, and evidence-based implementation of interventions across multiple settings.
5. Curriculum Development
- Design and implement training curricula for RBTs that teach skills applicable in residential homes, schools, clinics, and home-based programs.
- Develop manuals, lesson plans, and hands-on materials to support staff learning.
- Update and adapt curricula based on staff performance, setting, and client needs.
- Create and adapt curriculum, developmental training, and resources (e.g., parent, teacher, and RBT training).
6. Administrative & Other Duties
- Write consultation notes, progress summaries, BIPs, and professional reports.
- Maintain thorough documentation and meet all required deadlines.
- Uphold confidentiality, ethical standards, and organizational policies and HIPAA.
- Perform additional responsibilities as directed by the Clinical Director.
Qualifications
- BCBA certification in good standing with BACB.
- Complete the 8 hours of supervision training .
- Prior experience in supervision RBT’s.
- Minimum 2 years of ABA/behavior management experience, supervising behavior technicians preferred.
- Master’s degree in Special Education, ABA, School Psychology, or related field preferred.
- Strong knowledge of BACB supervision standards and ethical guidelines.
- Experience in schools, residential facilities, clinics, and early intervention programs.
- Excellent coaching, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain detailed documentation, and adapt to various settings.
- Spanish-speaking a plus.
Schedule & Work Setting
- Requires 3 late evening shifts per week and 2 morning shifts to accommodate RBT schedules.
Option 1: 8:00 am to 5:00pm Option 2: 6:00 am to 3:00pm
Option 1: 9:00 am to 6:00pm Option 2: 10:00 am-7:00pm
- Weekends as needed for RBT supervision requirements.
- Travel between offices, residential homes, clinics, and school sites as needed. Travel commute average of 5 to 30 minutes.
