BEHAR | GIBBS | SAVAGE | PAULSON LLP is a litigation-focused law firm representing insurance carriers, businesses, and public entities in complex civil litigation throughout California. We are seeking an experienced individual to join our collaborative litigation team and support attorneys in Criminal Litigation.

This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants hands-on involvement in complex cases from inception through trial.

Key Responsibilities Case Management & Litigation Support

• Manage case files from intake through trial
• Maintain case calendars and track deadlines
• Coordinate filings in state and federal courts

Legal Research & Document Preparation

• Conduct legal research using Westlaw or LexisNexis
• Draft and revise legal documents, including pleadings and correspondence
• Prepare legal memoranda and summaries

Discovery

• Draft and respond to written discovery (interrogatories, RFPs, RFAs)
• Organize, review, and analyze document productions
• Prepare meet-and-confer correspondence

Motion & Pleading Support

• Assist in drafting motions (MSJ, demurrers, motions to strike, discovery motions)
• Prepare supporting exhibits, declarations, and filings

Deposition & Trial Support

• Coordinate and prepare deposition materials
• Summarize deposition transcripts
• Assist attorneys during depositions and trials
• Organize trial exhibits and binders

What We’re Looking For

• 3 years of experience as a paralegal or legal assistant (Must have Criminal Litigation Experience)
• Strong knowledge of California civil procedure and court rules
• Excellent legal research and writing skills
• Experience with e-filing in California courts
• Proficiency in Westlaw or LexisNexis
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
