Billing & Appeals Specialist

Job Type: Full-Time (non-exempt)
BGSP is seeking a detail-oriented Billing and Appeals Specialist to join our team at our Orange County office in Costa Mesa.. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced legal environment and enjoys problem-solving, team collaboration, and process improvement.
About the Role
This position will have a strong focus on managing and resolving invoice deductions and rejections. You will work closely with attorneys and clients to ensure accurate and timely resolution of billing disputes, while also supporting general billing operations.
Skills & Tools
· Excel/reporting tools for tracking appeal outcomes
· Audit trail maintenance for appeals and write-offs
· Client-service orientation
· High level of confidentiality and professionalism
Primary Responsibilities:
· Maintaining bill rates within ProLaw system software and various e-billing websites
· Submitting automated LEDES files via customized E-Billing Hub portal
· Tracking status of e-billed invoices
· Coordinating appeals responses from attorneys for deductions taken
· Logging external write-offs
· Revising and resubmitting any rejected invoices
· Processing edits provided by attorneys for their time entries
· Organizing and attaching supporting receipts for expense charges
· Collection calls and e-mails with clients and monthly updates to team
Qualifications:
Must have 1-3 experience in Billing.
· Prior experience within a legal, accounting, or finance department
· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
· Microsoft Excel: 2 years (Preferred)
· Accounting: 1 year (Preferred)
Compensation & Benefits:
· Pay: $26.00 – $28.00 per hour (based on experience)
