Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Toddler Teacher to join our early childhood education team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a nurturing, safe, and stimulating environment for toddlers, fostering their growth and development through engaging activities and personalized care. This role requires strong classroom management skills, a passion for teaching young children, and the ability to collaborate effectively with staff and families.
Responsibilities
- Implement age-appropriate lesson plans that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development in toddlers
- Supervise and engage children during daily activities, including playtime, learning sessions, and nap times
- Ensure a safe and clean classroom environment by adhering to health and safety standards
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child's progress, behavior, and developmental milestones
- Manage classroom routines efficiently while maintaining a positive and inclusive atmosphere
- Provide guidance and support to assistant teachers or aides as needed
- Maintain accurate records of children's attendance, developmental progress, and any incidents or concerns
- Incorporate early childhood education best practices with an emphasis on childhood development principles
- Utilize behavior management techniques to foster positive behavior and social skills among children
- Stay current with certifications such as first aid and CPR; participate in ongoing professional development
Requirements
- Knowledge of childhood development theories and age-specific activities
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to create an engaging learning environment
- Certification in first aid and CPR required; additional certifications in special education or working with individuals with disabilities are a plus
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with parents, colleagues, and children
- Ability to handle behavioral challenges with patience and professionalism
- Childcare or early childhood education credentials preferred; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or related field is advantageous
- Compassionate caregiver with a genuine passion for nurturing young children’s growth and learning
- CDA preferred, ability to obtain required.
