We are currently hiring an experienced transportation dispatcher to join our growing team in our corporate office located in East St. Louis, IL. The successful candidate must possess self-motivation and critical thinking. Previous Bulk Commodity experience is preferred. This is a full time, in-office position.

Schedule: Monday thru Friday 7:00AM - 5:00PM

Pay: $65 - $75K a year depending on experience.

Description:

Responsible for the movement and scheduling of freight, utilization of drivers, and the deployment of available equipment to maximize utilization and productivity while ensuring prompt, courteous and efficient service to all customers.

Principal Responsibilities

• Utilize independent judgment and effectively manage work assignments.
• Continuously interact with customers, as required.
• Create and maximize capacity by ensuring productive use of all assets, equipment and drivers.
• Ensure maximum productivity by achieving or exceeding Company-established goals.
• Assign loads to drivers based on optimum routes, equipment availability and driver location.
• Dispatch drivers and equipment to ensure efficient utilization and minimum delay time.
• Maintain communication and ensure drivers have adequate knowledge and resources to accomplish assigned duties.
• Administers and supports safety to ensure a safe work place and to be in compliance with DOT regulations and multi-state laws.
• Coordinates equipment repair with appropriate terminal to reduce mechanical failures and delays.
• Completes necessary paperwork accurately and in a timely manner to ensure an efficient and steady flow of information.
• Meet committed delivery times while ensuring quality service
• Communicate effectively both in person, electronically and on the phone.
• Ensure route completion via the driver check-in process.
• Report driver performance issues or concerns to appropriate management for resolution.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
• Knowledge of TMW software, Samsara and Dry Bulk commodities a plus
