Job Description
Beelman Truck Co. is seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Clerk for our headquarters located on Highway 15 between Belleville and East St. Louis, Illinois. We are a large, dry bulk transportation company looking for the right person to join our busy, high-volume accounting team. In-person position, no remote work available.
Job Responsibilities
· Post customer payments received via ACH, credit card and lockbox file transmissions.
· Research and resolve customer payment discrepancies.
· Resolves valid or authorized deductions by entering adjusting entries to the accounts.
· Facilitate payment of invoices due by sending billing reminders and contacting clients.
· Update management periodically on the status of customer accounts.
· Understand the billing process to be able to communicate effectively with customers.
· Provide supporting documentation for audits.
· Complete special projects as needed.
· Provide support/back-up to the other accounts receivable team members.
· Perform all other tasks and/or responsibilities as assigned or requested.
Job Requirements
· 2-5 years of experience in accounts receivable, preferably in a transportation environment
· Associate’s Degree in accounting, business, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to carry out ongoing dialogues in a way that creates trust and confidence within all levels of the company
· Excellent customer service skills
· Strong organizational and time management skills
· Ability to work with speed and accuracy
· Ability to perform basic math, including calculations using fractions, percentages, and/or ratios
· Intermediate to advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, with an emphasis on Excel
· Ability to speak, read, and communicate using the English language
· Ability to work under limited supervision following standardized practices and/or methods with frequent interruptions and adaptable to changes in priorities
· Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
