Job Description: Market Research Analyst (Intern) – Technology Leadership Project

About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Business Studies undergraduate to lead a 6-month market research initiative focused on identifying, profiling, and building a comprehensive database of CTOs, VPs of Engineering, and senior technology decision-makers across a targeted list of companies.
This project is critical in strengthening our outreach strategy, understanding industry leadership behavior, and mapping technology buying patterns. The ideal candidate is analytical, structured, and comfortable researching executive personas using online tools, public data, and professional networks.
Key Responsibilities
1. Market Research & Data Collection
• Conduct structured research on a defined list of companies using phone, text, email etc..
• Identify key technology leaders including CTOs, VPs of Engineering, Chief Architect, etc.
• Use LinkedIn, company websites, and public sources to gather accurate information.
2. Persona Profiling
• Build detailed persona profiles including roles, responsibilities, pain points, and decision-making authority.
• Capture behavioral insights such as information sources, communication style, current priorities and buying triggers. Also capture current level of outsourcing, process of outsourcing and budgets.
3. Database Creation & Management
• Maintain a structured database (Excel or CRM).
• Ensure accuracy, consistency, and categorization by company, geography, and seniority.
• Qualify and score the database for propensity to engage commercially. Also make necessary introductions to the sales team
4. Reporting & Insights
• Prepare weekly progress reports.
• Deliver a final report with consolidated insights and recommendations.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s or MBA student in Business, Economics, Strategy, Marketing or related field.
• Strong analytical skills and structured research ability.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High attention to detail and comfortable handling datasets.
• Familiarity with LinkedIn and research tools.
• Self-driven and capable of independent work.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with market research or competitive intelligence.
• Interest in technology, SaaS, or engineering ecosystems.
• Understanding of tech company organizational structures.
