Job Summary
Join our dedicated team as a QMAP Caregiver Midnights, where you will play a vital role in providing compassionate, high-quality care to residents during overnight hours. As a QMAP (Qualified Medication Administration Personnel), you will be responsible for administering medications, monitoring resident health, and ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the night. Duties
- Administer medications accurately following established protocols, including oral, topical, and injectable medications when qualified.
- Monitor residents’ vital signs, physical condition, and overall well-being during overnight shifts.
- Assist residents with personal care needs such as bathing, dressing, mobility support, and toileting.
- Document all care activities meticulously using electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner to ensure compliance with HIPAA and medical documentation standards.
- Respond promptly to resident emergencies or changes in condition by following proper procedures and notifying healthcare professionals as needed.
- Maintain a safe environment by adhering to infection control protocols, catheter care guidelines, and safety procedures related to Alzheimer’s and dementia care.
- Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive patient care that aligns with physiology knowledge, medical terminology, and anatomy principles.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home & community care environments is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical procedures such as tube feeding, medication administration, catheter care, and vital signs monitoring.
- Strong understanding of senior care needs including dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, hospice care, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities.
- Valid QMAP certification or equivalent state licensing required; must meet all regulatory requirements for medication administration.
- Excellent caregiving skills combined with compassion, patience, and attention to detail in high-pressure situations.
