Duties
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges
- Greet customers warmly, answer questions, and assist with product selections to enhance their shopping experience
- Conduct product demos to showcase features and benefits, encouraging additional sales through upselling techniques
- Maintain proper cash handling procedures, including balancing registers and managing cash, credit, and digital payments
- Stock shelves, organize merchandise, and ensure the sales floor is clean and inviting for shoppers
- Provide excellent phone etiquette when assisting customers via phone or online inquiries
- Support merchandising efforts by arranging displays and ensuring products are well-presented and stocked
Qualifications
- Previous cashiering experience in a retail or grocery store environment is preferred
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively in both English and bilingual settings
- Demonstrated supervisory experience or leadership qualities are a plus for team support roles
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling procedures, and retail math calculations
- Ability to perform basic math accurately for transactions and inventory counts
- Knowledge of grocery store operations, including stocking, merchandising, and customer service standards
