Beech Valley is seeking an experienced Controller / Director of Finance to lead core accounting and finance operations for a hospitality organization in the Greater Raleigh–Fayetteville area. This contract-to-hire opportunity will oversee month-end close, treasury, financial reporting, and budgeting while managing a small team. This role requires a hybrid schedule (3 days/week onsite preferred, fully onsite strongly preferred) and offers a contract-to-hire structure with an initial term to be determined.
What You’ll Do
- Own and lead the monthly close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Manage treasury activities, including cash flow monitoring and forecasting
- Prepare and deliver financial reporting packages for leadership
- Lead the annual budgeting process and ongoing variance analysis
- Supervise, mentor, and develop two direct reports
- Evaluate and improve accounting processes, controls, and workflows
- Partner with leadership to support strategic and operational financial decisions
- Drive technology adoption and system improvements across the finance function
What We’re Looking For
- 7 years of progressive accounting and finance experience
- Prior hospitality industry experience required
- Strong leadership experience managing small teams
- Demonstrated experience leading close and financial reporting processes
- Highly organized with a process-oriented mindset
- Self-starter able to operate independently and prioritize effectively
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to support budgeting and variance analysis
- Tech-savvy with a focus on process improvement and automation
Nice to Have
- CPA designation strongly preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
- Background improving finance systems, reporting tools, or workflow automation
