Beech Construction Services is hiring an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to support grading and underground utility projects across Middle Tennessee. This role is ideal for operators with experience in excavation, sitework, and utility installation who take pride in safety, precision, and productivity.
What You’ll Do
- Operate heavy equipment including excavators, dozers, skid steers, backhoes, and dump trucks
- Perform excavation, grading, and trenching according to plans and specifications
- Assist with installation of water lines, sewer lines, and underground utilities
- Read and interpret construction plans and grade stakes
- Use laser levels and grading tools
- Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized jobsite
- Communicate daily with Superintendents and crew members
What We’re Looking For
- 2 years experience operating heavy equipment in construction
- Experience with excavation, grading, or utility work
- Ability to read and follow plans and specifications
- Comfortable performing physical labor as needed
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and teamwork mindset
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- OSHA 10 required (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
Preferred (Nice to Have)
- Experience with underground utilities (water, sewer, storm)
- CDL (Class A or B)
- Experience with laser grading / GPS systems
- Mechanical aptitude for minor equipment maintenance
