We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Pet Care Associate to join our team. As a Pet Care Associate, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care and attention to pets while their owners are away. This is a great opportunity for individuals who have a passion for animals and enjoy spending time with them.
This is a Part Time position 12-20 hours a week. YOU MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK AT LEAST TWO WEEKENDS / MONTH AND MOST HOLIDAYS.
Duties
- Provide food, water, and exercise to pets according to their specific needs
- Administer medication or treatments as instructed by pet owners
- Clean and maintain pet areas, including litter boxes, cages, and outdoor spaces
- Monitor pets for any signs of illness or distress and report any concerns to the owner or veterinarian
- Engage in playtime and provide companionship to keep pets mentally stimulated
- Follow specific instructions provided by pet owners regarding feeding schedules, exercise routines, and any other special requirements
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all pets in your care
Requirements
- Experience working with animals
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners
- Ability to handle dogs of all sizes and breeds safely and confidently
- Knowledge of basic animal care and behavior
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) when necessary
- Reliable transportation to travel to different locations for pet sitting assignments
- Availability to work weekends and holidays
