Must have a valid drivers license and insured vehicle to travel to clients home. Position specific: Stroudsburg, elderly lady, Mon-Fri 8:00am --1:00pm. Provide support with ADL's, meal prep, transport to grocery shop and medical appointments.
Beck N Call is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Direct Care Worker to provide essential support and assistance to individuals with diverse needs. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for a senior adult , through personalized care, empathy, and professionalism. This role involves working closely with individuals in a home care settings, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, patience, and a proactive approach to caregiving.
Duties
- Assist residents or clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary.
- Monitor vital signs in accordance with care plans and medical guidelines while maintaining HIPAA compliance to protect patient privacy.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary restrictions and assist with meal consumption to ensure proper nutrition.
- Document care activities accurately using Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) systems and communicate effectively with Beck N Call regarding patient progress or concerns.
- Provide transportation for appointments or errands by driving safely and responsibly while adhering to all safety protocols.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning tasks and infection control practices aligned with health standards.
Experience
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home care environments is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated proficiency in assisting with ADLs, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring.
- Experience working with people who have disabilities, including developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, dementia, or Alzheimer’s disease.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA regulations, and EMR systems for accurate documentation and communication.
- Background in caregiving roles that involve social work principles or case management is advantageous.
