Project Overview:

Port Arthur LNG, LLC (PALNG) is developing a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production and export facility on a site located on the western shoreline of the Port Arthur Canal in Jefferson County, Texas. The project base scope will include two (2) identical LNG trains, two (2) LNG Storage Tanks, one (1) LNG Carrier Berth, and associated utilities/facilities. The Project is to be constructed on a parcel of land located along State Highway 87 south of Port Arthur, Texas, between the inner coastal waterway bridge and Keith Lake. The Infrastructure Global Business Unit (GBU) is executing site civil and marine scopes of work associated with our scopes of work on the Energy GBU LNG projects. As the #1 LNG EPC contractor by installed capacity, Bechtel has the capability to successfully deliver a broad range of LNG projects through our integrated EPC self-perform model, strategic partnerships, and proven experience in LNG project delivery. Partnering with Bechtel means lower cost, shorter delivery schedules, and greater certainty of outcomes for our customers.

Job Summary:

The Site Work Field Engineer is responsible for providing technical assistance, direction, and support to Bechtel and subcontractor field supervision for construction and installation activities for all disciplines associated with specified area equipment and materials which includes: work planning and packaging, material management, quantity verification and validation, safety and quality control, technical inspection and testing knowledge, and coordination of area turnover. Your work will contribute to ensuring field engineering activities operate safely, are complete, and conform to quality standards and project requirements. #LI-KL1

Major Responsibilities:

Work Planning & Packaging

• Prepares construction drawings and sketches.
• Facilitates planning construction methods and procedures.

Material Management

• Initiates requisitions for field purchases.
• Prepares quantity takeoffs of field purchased material and equipment.

Quantities

• Verifies commodities on quantity tracking systems or other computer database systems as required.

Safety / Quality Control

• Ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely.

Technical

• Proactively considers continuous learning or show interest to pursue appropriate learning activities.

System Turnover Coordinator

• Develops firm understanding of system and area scoping and drawings required for package development.

STR / Subcontract Coordinator

• Reviews and approves inspection test plans.
• Coordinates reviews of subcontractor submittals.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Required bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Experience on an LNG construction site especially along the U.S. Gulf Coast.
• Experience in oil, gas, refinery, petrochemical, minerals processing or power generating station construction is preferred.
• Knowledge and experience of Site Works activities including mass excavation, backfill, wick drains, soils stabilization, soil mixing, dewatering/drainage plans, roadways, materials and testing, instrumentation and monitoring, etc.
• Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheets, and database applications.
• Working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving ability.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and lead teams.
• Maintain, promote, and cultivate a safe work ethic and work environment within the craft.
• Able to work extended work schedules and night shift as required to support the project execution plans and schedules.
• Demonstrated commitment to Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H).
• Demonstrable commitment to a Zero Accident safety program.
