We are seeking a highly motivated Research Associate to join our Crop Transformation Systems team within Biotechnology/Trait Discovery & Optimization.
Job Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for generating quality transgenic and genome editing events to support traits discovery, optimization, and product development. This will involve isolating embryos or preparing other explants, performing transformation, sub-culturing tissue culture materials during the selection process, and regenerating plants.
The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal/team communication skills, organizational skills, keen attention to detail, and the desire to work as a member of a team of scientists working to achieve common team goals.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in biology, microbiology, plant science, agronomy, or equivalent amounts of relevant education.
Competencies and Experience:
Excellent written/verbal communication, basic computer, and organizational skills are required. The candidate should possess a demonstrated ability to work effectively as an independent contributor to meet work demand and deadlines.
Technical trainings will be provided. General knowledge of plant biology and biotechnology is necessary. Working knowledge and experience with cell and tissue culture and plant transformation are highly desired.
