Job Description:
Spherion is seeking an experienced Plant Manager to oversee the daily operations of a production facility. This individual will be responsible for ensuring all processes are conducted in a safe and cost-effective manner, while also driving continuous improvement throughout the facility.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in leadership and operations, with experience in managing teams and implementing quality management systems. They will also possess excellent communication skills and be able to work closely with cross-functional teams to achieve organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Employee safety training and compliance to safety programs
- Hiring, training, and supervising temporary and seasonal employees
- Daily supervision of full-time employees working within the production location
- Implementing and maintaining the Quality Management System within the production facility
- Coordinating delivery of bulk product and developing packaging schedules
- Ensuring preventative maintenance programs and schedules are followed on all facility equipment
Requirements:
- Associate's degree required
- Bachelor's degree in Agriculture preferred
- 4-7 years of experience in a leadership role
- Must have operations experience and a strong understanding of seed production
