As a member of the Transportation Team, you will have daily interaction with drivers. You will be responsible for dispatching trailer loads, compiling and maintaining driver logs, ensuring on-time delivery commitments are met, and tracking trailer movement in a 7-day operation.
Core Functions
- Understanding Department of Transportation regulations
- Experience with transportation practices/principles
- Strong organization skills with accurate records and driving logs
- Ability to manage scheduling prioritization and workflow in partnership with operations
- Utilizing telematics platforms to monitor driver performance, delivery efficiency, GPS locations, and temperature settings
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
- Two years of college or equivalent technical experience in Transportation or Distribution
- Working knowledge of Wakefern Management Information Systems required, including Rapid, TMMS, and On Board/GPS Systems
- Ability to perform multiple functions simultaneously with heavy telephone call volume
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills, including professional communications
- Flexibility regarding working hours, shift rotations, work locations, weekends, overtime, and holidays in a 24/7 Sunday thru Saturday operation
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
