Role Description The Associate Attorney, Trusts and Estates will work on-site at the firm’s Dover, NH office in a full-time capacity. This role involves drafting wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other estate planning documents, as well as reviewing and updating existing plans for individual and business clients. The attorney will meet with clients to assess their goals, provide legal advice, and develop tailored estate and succession plans. Daily responsibilities include conducting legal and tax research, preparing memoranda and opinions, coordinating with financial and tax professionals, and managing case files from intake through execution. The role also includes participating in negotiations related to business succession, assisting with contract review, and supporting firm initiatives aimed at client education and outreach.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Law with specific experience or interest in Trusts and Estates and Business Law.
  • Ability to provide clear, practical Legal Advice to individuals, families, and business clients.
  • Proficient in legal Research, including statutes, regulations, case law, and tax-related issues.
  • Negotiation skills for resolving client matters, drafting agreements, and supporting business succession plans.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and admission, or eligibility for admission, to the New Hampshire bar.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail in drafting and document review.
  • Strong client service orientation, professional judgment, and ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines.
  • Prior experience in trusts and estates, probate, or closely held business work is preferred but not required.
