Job Summary

Job Summary

Under general supervision, provides and maintains all information necessary to ensure that claims comply with program guidelines and state/federal regulations to facilitate prompt payments (incoming/outgoing) for services. The Program Services and Billing Technician acts as a liaison among program personnel, healthcare providers, insurance carriers, and government agencies to resolve billing and audit issues. The Technician conducts and coordinates necessary training and meetings as related to billing and purchases with relevant staff. This position is responsible for providing administrative support in the coordination of programs, including Medi-Cal Administrative Activities (MAA); the Medi-Cal Local Education Agency (LEA) Billing Option; Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) under the Children and Youth Behavioral Health Initiative (CYBHI) multi-payer fee schedule; and other billable programs. The Technician performs specialized clerical work involving the review and processing of requisitions; the pricing, ordering, and inventory of supplies, equipment, computer technology, and software; and the accurate preparation, submission, and follow-up of billing claims for services rendered as well as related work as required.
