One of the nation's premier security and investigative firms is looking for a South Florida / Miami Director of Security Operations & Business Development. Our company provides executive protection, uniformed security, corporate investigations, intelligence, and risk management services to Fortune 500 companies, luxury residential properties, commercial real estate, financial institutions, hospitality, healthcare, retail, and high-profile clients.
With more than 40 years of experience protecting people, property, and reputations, we are expanding our South Florida operations and are seeking an experienced security executive to lead our Miami office.
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Director of Security Operations & Business Development to oversee all aspects of our South Florida security operations while driving new business growth throughout the region.
The ideal candidate is a former law enforcement executive or senior security professional with extensive experience managing security personnel, overseeing field operations, developing client relationships, and generating new business opportunities.
This is a leadership position for someone who is equally comfortable managing large security teams, meeting with CEOs and property managers, responding to client emergencies, and closing new accounts.
Responsibilities
Operations Leadership
- Oversee daily security operations throughout South Florida
- Recruit, interview, hire, train, and mentor security personnel
- Supervise field supervisors and site management teams
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and Florida licensing requirements
- Conduct site inspections and quality assurance audits
- Manage scheduling, staffing levels, and operational coverage
- Respond to client concerns and operational emergencies
- Develop post orders and operational procedures
- Maintain high standards of professionalism and customer service
Client Management
- Serve as the primary relationship manager for assigned accounts
- Conduct regular client meetings and security reviews
- Identify opportunities to expand existing services
- Ensure contract compliance and client satisfaction
- Resolve service issues quickly and professionally
Business Development
- Develop new business throughout South Florida
- Build relationships with:
- Commercial real estate firms
- Property management companies
- Luxury residential buildings
- Hospitality organizations
- Construction companies
- Healthcare facilities
- Retail organizations
- Corporate clients
- Network within the business community
- Attend industry and networking events
- Respond to RFPs and prepare proposals
- Conduct security assessments for prospective clients
- Meet or exceed annual sales goals
- Collaborate with executive leadership on regional growth strategies
Administrative Responsibilities
- Prepare operational reports
- Monitor budgets and profitability
- Assist with contract pricing
- Review incident reports and investigations
- Ensure accurate documentation and compliance
- Coordinate with HR and executive leadership
Qualifications
Required
- Former law enforcement officer, supervisor, or command-level professional preferred
- Minimum 10 years of security management or law enforcement leadership experience
- Minimum 5 years managing security personnel
- Proven experience overseeing multiple security contracts
- Demonstrated business development or sales success
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to travel throughout South Florida
Preferred
- Florida Class "B" Security Agency Manager license (or ability to obtain)
- Experience with executive protection or corporate security
- Existing network within the South Florida business community
- Experience with commercial real estate, hospitality, healthcare, or luxury residential security
- Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Business, or a related field
