Job Purpose:
- The Edger Operator 1 at The Beasley Group is responsible for operating and maintaining the edger machine within the sawmill to ensure the efficient processing of lumber. This role is crucial in optimizing the quality and yield of wood products, contributing significantly to the production goals and operational efficiency of the sawmill.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate the edger machine to process lumber according to specified dimensions and quality standards.
- Monitor and adjust machine settings to ensure optimal performance and product quality.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of the edger machine to ensure its longevity and reliability.
- Inspect lumber before and after processing to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Collaborate with other team members to maintain a smooth and efficient workflow within the sawmill.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to the supervisor promptly.
- Assist in training new operators on the proper use and maintenance of the edger machine.

Required Education:
