What are the responsibilities and job description for the Skilled Mechanic position at Beary Landscape Management Inc?
The purpose of the skilled mechanic is to identify mechanical, electrical, and fuel system problems and make necessary repairs. As well as providing an excellent and consistent service quality product through proper diagnosis, repair, cleaning, and documentation of each unit.
Duties and responsibilities
- Repair and maintain gasoline engines (sometimes diesel) used to power equipment such as lawn mowers, portable saws, line trimmers, hedge trimmers, generators, sod cutters, sod rollers, and plate compactors.
- Adjusts points, clean & repair valves, carburetors, distributors, spark plug gaps, and filters.
- Knowledge to dissemble and reassemble small engines after repair or maintenance work is completed.
- Ability to record repairs made, time spent, and parts used.
- Performs routine maintenance such as cleaning and oiling parts, honing cylinders, tuning ignition systems, sharpening & replacing blades, belts, pulleys, and tires.
- Test and inspect problems to determine malfunctions to locate missing and/or broken parts, and to verify equipment works after repairs have been made.
