Status: Full Time/Non-Exempt

Reports to: Director of Children’s Center

Purpose and Scope of Position

This position is responsible for the planning, organizing and execution of all classroom activities at the Beartooth Children’s Center. The Early Childhood Teacher maintains a safe, healthy, and stimulating learning environment, and provides constant supervision of children during all indoor and outdoor activities. The Early Childhood Teacher responds to the needs of individual children, works cooperatively with all other staff members, and child families, and familiarizes themselves with basic concepts of child development and developmentally appropriate practices as established by the National Association for the Education of young children and/or follow the State of Montana License/Caregiver requirements.

Job Requirements

• Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Ability to obtain Infant/child and adult CPR and First Aide
• Or an equivalent combination of education and experience relating to the above tasks, knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered
• Preferred Qualifications
• CDA (Child Development Associate) or higher (AA or BA) or two years of full time work experience in a licensed child care facility, preferred
• Managerial Experience

b. Physical Demands

• Lift, push, pull, and move in excess of 35 pounds unassisted.
• Requires extensive standing and walking.
• Requires frequent reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.

c. Blood Borne Pathogen Category

• Category I: Tasks that involve exposure to blood or body fluids or tissues.

d. Airborne Contaminant Category

• Category III: Not at risk for exposure to airborne contaminants.
