Early Childhood Teacher's Aide

Status: Full-Time/Non-Exempt

Reports to: Director of Children’s Center

Purpose and Scope of Position

This position is responsible for assisting in the planning and execution of all classroom activities, helping maintain a safe, healthy and stimulating learning environment. In addition, the Aide supports the Early Childhood Teacher by helping to provide constant supervision of children during all indoor and outdoor activities, responding to the needs of individual children, working cooperatively with all other staff members and familiarizing themselves with basic concepts of child development and developmentally appropriate practices as established by the National Association for the Education of young children and/or follow the State of Montana License/Caregiver requirements, and be familiar with other best practices.

Job Requirements

• Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Infant/child and adult CPR and First Aide, or ability to obtain
• Or an equivalent combination of education and experience relating to the above tasks, knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered
• Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in a licensed childcare facility, preferred
• Managerial Experience
• N/A

• Must deal effectively with a wide variety of personalities and situations requiring tact, judgment, and poise.

b. Physical Demands

• Lift, push, pull, and move in excess of 35 pounds unassisted.
• Requires extensive standing and walking.
• Requires frequent reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.

c. Blood Borne Pathogen Category

• Category I: Tasks that involve exposure to blood or body fluids or tissues.

d. Airborne Contaminant Category

• Category III: Not at risk for exposure to airborne contaminants.
