We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician to join our growing team.
Position Summary
The Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician will assist with the preparation of sterile compounded medications in accordance with USP standards, state and federal regulations, and company policies and procedures. This role requires strong attention to detail, a commitment to quality and compliance, and the ability to work efficiently in a team-based pharmacy environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare sterile compounded medications under the supervision of a pharmacist
- Perform aseptic manipulations in accordance with USP <797> and applicable regulations
- Assist with cleaning, disinfecting, and maintaining the cleanroom and compounding equipment
- Complete daily, weekly, and monthly sterile compounding logs and documentation
- Accurately weigh, measure, and compound ingredients according to master formulation records
- Assist with inventory management, including receiving, stocking, dating, and monitoring supplies
- Maintain accurate records for compounding, beyond-use dating, lot numbers, and related documentation
- Support quality assurance processes and help maintain compliance with pharmacy standards
- Work collaboratively with pharmacists, technicians, and support staff to ensure timely workflow
Qualifications
- Active Pharmacy Technician registration/licensure in Texas
- Sterile compounding experience strongly preferred
- 1 year of experience in a compounding pharmacy, hospital IV room, or cleanroom environment
- Strong understanding of aseptic technique and sterile workflow
- Ability to follow detailed formulas, procedures, and documentation requirements
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable, professional, and team-oriented
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to perform repetitive hand movements and fine motor tasks
- Ability to lift and move pharmacy supplies as needed
- Ability to garb and work in a cleanroom environment for extended periods
