POSITION SUMMARY:  Responsible for assisting the room attendants with their daily tasks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

• Responsible for assisting the room attendants with their daily tasks by cleaning and stocking closets, stripping guest rooms, delivering clean linens to rooms and inventory of the housekeeping closets.

• Individual will perform janitorial functions such as carpet cleaning for public spaces.

• Individual will also perform light maintenance in the hotel. 

• Individual will be responsible for staging outgoing linen each day and receiving and/or stocking incoming clean linens.

• In addition this position is required to help and be able to assist other departments as needed and to follow company policies and procedures.

• Being responsible for the cleanliness of the hotel common areas such as the lobby, restrooms, parking garage and hallways.

• Maintain professional image while on duty with well grooming hygiene and prescribed uniform.

• Works with highly sensitive information, maintains confidentiality and discretion in all areas, including planning and promotional procedures and guest information files.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

AUTHORITY/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Primarily tasked with providing the hotel housekeepers with support in performing their daily duties. This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• Must have HS Diploma or equivalent.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: None

COMPUTER OPERATIONS

• Basic personal computer skills including electronic mail, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY:

• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Ability to operate standard office equipment (copier, fax, etc.).
• Must be able to work with American Indian people and be sensitive to their culture.
• Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
• Participate in proactive team efforts of Bear River Casino Resort.
• Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
• Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays & special events as needed.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Must be able to work in a smoke-filled environment. Although we employ state of the art filtration systems, cigarette smoke is in the work environment.  Exposed to smoke, dust, and noise. Exposed to cleaning chemicals, fumes, etc.
