What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shop Laborer position at Bear Ridge Machine and Fabrication?
Note: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. The employee may be required to perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor. This is a good position for entry-level welders.
Duties:
- Mig welding and stud welding parts per blue prints and in jigs
- Operate shears to cut steel
-Perform general labor tasks as assigned by the supervisor
- Assist with loading and unloading materials on forklift
- Operate hand tools and power tools as required
- Clean and maintain work areas
- Follow safety guidelines and procedures
- Complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner
- Use oxyacetylene torch to cut scrap steel
- Help manage steel inventory and keep the yard clean and organized
Experience:
- Previous experience in a laborer or construction role is preferred but not required
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Basic knowledge of hand tools and power tools is a plus
- Ability to follow instructions and work well in a team
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
