What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nursing Home Helper position at Bear Lake Memorial Hospital?
Bear Lake Memorial Healthcare is seeking a hard-working, dependable individual that can provide assistance to the residents, CNA’s and Nursing Staff of the Skilled Nursing Facility. This individual must be flexible – working anywhere from 1-3 days a week as needed on an occasional basis.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Cleaning and making resident beds
- Emptying trash cans
- Dusting bedside tables and nightstands (assuring resident’s personal space is clean and tidy.)
- Serving resident food trays and beverages
- Clearing trays and cleaning kitchen area after meals
- Removing food carts to the Dietary Department after meals
- Filling water mugs and stocking personal care items for residents
- Being aware of standard precautions and avoidance of contamination
- Caring for equipment and supplies within your responsibilities
- Other related duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
- There will be a moderate amount of bending, twisting, and walking with this position
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Observe instructions of charge nurse and carry out duties and responsibilities in conformance with established routines and guidelines
- Maintain strict adherence to confidentiality requirements.
- Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
- Must have good people skills and be able to get along with others.
