What are the responsibilities and job description for the Administrator in Training position at Bear Lake Memorial Hospital?
Position Purpose:
The Administrator in Training (AIT) position is designed to prepare an individual for a leadership role in assisted living administration. Under the direction of the Administrator, the AIT will gain hands-on experience in managing the day-to-day operations of Bear Lake Manor, with a focus on delivering high-quality resident care, regulatory compliance, and effective team leadership.
Responsibilities:
The AIT will work closely with leadership to develop competency in all aspects of assisted living operations, including but not limited to:
- Assisting with daily operations of Bear Lake Manor (BLM), Bear Lake Memorial Healthcare’s (BLMH) Assisted Living Center
- Building and maintaining positive relationships with residents, families, staff, healthcare providers, and community partners
- Supporting a warm, resident-centered, family-like environment
- Learning and supporting oversight of Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and medication services
- Assisting with employee scheduling and staffing coordination
- Promoting and ensuring resident health, safety, and well-being
- Gaining familiarity with licensing, survey, and inspection requirements
- Participating in resident admissions and assessments in alignment with BLM and BLMH goals
- Assisting with marketing and community outreach efforts
- Supporting facility maintenance coordination and supply ordering
- Participating in employee onboarding, training, evaluations, and performance management
- Learning and supporting compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Assisting with resident evaluations and care planning processes
- Monitoring and analyzing performance metrics to improve facility operations
- Gaining exposure to reimbursement systems and government payment methodologies
- Participating in budgeting, strategic planning, and financial processes (including billing and receipting)
- Performing other duties as assigned to support the mission and goals of Bear Lake Manor
Requirements:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences
- Ability to learn quickly, take initiative, and work both independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Demonstrated leadership potential and a desire to grow into an administrative role
- Ability to motivate others and support a positive team culture
- Willingness to receive coaching, feedback, and ongoing training
- Understanding of or willingness to learn healthcare regulations and quality standards
- Ability to travel as needed for training, marketing, or professional development
- Must be willing to obtain a Residential Care Administrator’s License within a designated timeframe
