JOB DESCRIPTION
OVERVIEW:
We are seeking highly skilled Heavy Equipment (Finish Blade, Finish Bulldozer, Excavator and Front-End Loader) Operators to join our team. As a remarkable Heavy Equipment Operator, you will be attuned to the subtleties of each situation, possessing a sound knowledge of when to lead or follow.
DUTIES:
- Preparing and manipulating yellow iron equipment to ensure the appropriate movement of materials including caliche, earth, rock, rubble, and topsoil.
- Fill out, complete and submit daily equipment inspection reports, grade sheets, time sheets and other mission critical paperwork as required.
- Consulting with supervisors and co-workers to ensure projects are completed on time and under budget.
- Conduct duties in a safe, diligent manner at all times.
- Always represent the company’s best interests in a professional and respectful manner.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Efficiently and safely maneuver heavy motorized equipment to ensure the accurate placement and removal of materials.
- Loading and off-loading rocks, debris, and other materials from pads and roads.
- Always observe and follow stipulated safety codes and protocols.
- Straight away report to immediate supervisor and Safety Manager all injuries or accidents.
- Possess job -site situational awareness.
- Ensure and be held accountable equipment is properly checked for damage, fluid levels are maintained, all air and AC filters are thoroughly cleaned from dust and debris, all working components greased, hoses and fittings are in good operational condition and maintained as stated in the company’s SOPs.
- Promptly document and report damaged or inoperable equipment to direct supervisor.
- Displaying active listening skills.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe job site.
- Refine workflow and boost efficiency.
- Abide by and follow the company’s Code of Conduct, Standard Operating Procedures and Safety Rules and Regulations.
REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Valid Driver’s license, Social Security card, US birth certificate or verifiable I-9 Employment Eligibility documents.
- Effectively speak, write, and understand English. Bilingual (English and Spanish) is a plus.
- Intermediate math skills.
- Excellent vision or the use of prescribed lenses.
- Exceptional manual dexterity and hand eye coordination.
- Ability to immediately display stated prior experience operating heavy equipment.
- Proven and verifiable experience building pads and roads for the oil and gas sector. Soil remediation and pit closures are a plus.
- Demonstrable ability to shoot, cut and level grade as directed.
- Sound understanding of safety guidelines, including accurate completion and submittal of Job Safety Analysis (JSA) documents.
- Sharp decision-making skills, especially under pressure and in extreme weather conditions.
- Ability to work extended hours and at times in austere locations.
- Professional demeanor and efficacy.
