JOB DESCRIPTION
OVERVIEW:
We are seeking safety conscious and reliable CDL Transport Drivers with 2 years’ minimum experience. Specific Experience in hauling caliche, topsoil, water and heavy equipment. Strict compliance with all Federal and State regulations including Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSA). The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting equipment and materials safely and efficiently across designated routes. This role requires a strong understanding of truck operations, including manual transmission driving, loading and unloading heavy equipment and materials, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. As a CDL Transport Driver, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our commitment to safety, timely deliveries and exceptional service.
DUTIES:
- Drive routes as assigned, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Load and unload heavy equipment and at times, materials as assigned.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe operating condition.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents that occur during transit.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding route changes or delays.
- Ensure that all cargo is secured properly to prevent damage during transport.
- Follow all safety protocols and regulations while on the road.
- Consult with supervisors and co-workers to ensure hauls are completed on time and according to instructions.
- Fill out, complete and submit daily truck pre-trip and post trip inspection reports, cargo load slips, Job Safety Analysis forms (JSA), time sheets and other mission critical paperwork as required
- Conduct duties in a safe, diligent manner at all times.
- Always represent the company’s best interests in a professional and respectful manner.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Always observe and follow stipulated DOT and FMCSA safety codes and protocols.
- Follow verbal and written instructions without constant supervision.
- Straight away report to immediate supervisor and Safety Manager all injuries or accidents.
- Possess job -site situational awareness.
- Ensure and be held accountable trucks and trailers are properly checked for damage, operability and proper functionality prior to use.
- Immediately document and report damaged or inoperable trucks and trailers to direct supervisor.
- Displaying active listening skills.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe truck and trailer.
- Refine workflow and boost efficiency.
- Abide by and follow the company’s Code of Conduct, Standard Operating Procedures and Safety Rules and Regulations.
REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Valid Commercial Driver’s license, Social Security card, US birth certificate or verifiable I-9 Employment Eligibility documents.
- Effectively speak, write, and understand English. Bilingual (English and Spanish) is a plus.
- Intermediate math skills.
- Excellent vision or the use of prescribed lenses.
- Exceptional manual dexterity and hand eye coordination.
- Able to lift 69 lbs. without mechanical assistance
- Ability to immediately verify stated prior experience
- Strict compliance to DOT and FMCSA safety guidelines, including accurate completion and submittal of daily pre-trip and post trip inspection reports, mileage reports, load slips, haul tickets, timesheets and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) documents.
- Sharp decision-making skills, especially under pressure and in extreme weather conditions.
- Ability to work extended hours and at times in austere locations.
- Professional demeanor and efficacy.
- Gas and energy business sector experience a plus
