WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
The Grounds/Terrain Park Manager is primarily responsible for overseeing all aspects of the year-round grounds operations and seasonal terrain park and ensuring a safe, efficient, and high-quality visual experience for guests and staff. This leadership role includes oversight of the ground's maintenance and terrain park teams and functions. The manager works closely with other resort departments to optimize operations, maintain budgetary discipline, and enhance guest satisfaction while upholding Bear Creek and Southern Management cultural standards as well as essential environmental sustainability and safety standards.
WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU:
- Promote and foster a culture of team member engagement and active communication throughout the resort.
Operations Management:
- Oversee daily grounds operations and maintenance including landscaping, plantings, irrigation, outdoor and indoor features and snow removal.
- Oversee daily terrain park operations including building of features, modelling, maintenance, testing and repairs.
- Monitor and maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including operations, safety codes, state inspections and environmental policies.
- Inspect resort grounds and terrain park on a regular basis.
Team Leadership & Staff Development:
- Lead and mentor team members.
- Develop and implement training programs for staff, focusing on safety, efficiency, and guest service.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and professionalism.
- Ensure appropriate staffing levels by hiring, scheduling, developing and following performance management guidelines.
Budgeting & Financial Oversight:
- Develop and manage the grounds maintenance and terrain park departmental budgets, ensuring cost control and operational efficiency.
- Monitor expenditures related to equipment, contracts and staffing.
- Coordinate vendor contracts/agreements and facilitate on-site vendor services related to resort grounds and terrain park.
Equipment & Infrastructure Management:
- Plan and execute approved projects, including repairs, upgrades, enhancements, new features, etc. while meeting budgets and deadlines.
- Ensure the appropriate level of safety standards for guests and team members is consistently adhered to.
Guest Experience & Resort Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with all resort departments to enhance the guest experience.
- Create an environment that is welcoming and pleasing to our guests.
Sustainability and Safety:
- Schedule and coordinate safety inspections and maintenance in areas of responsibility.
WHAT WE EXPECT FROM ALL BCMR TEAM MEMBERS:
- Acknowledge all guests and respond promptly to their needs, however busy and whatever time of day. Ensure unresolved incidents are reported to Manager/Supervisor
- Familiarity with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately
- Contribute to the team's success by accomplishing tasks and assisting with projects as needed
- Maintain knowledge and compliance with departmental policies, service procedures, and standards
- Work as a team member to ensure our guests have the best possible experience
- Understand emergency procedures and be able to apply them when necessary
- Report any incidents, property damage or injuries immediately to Manager/Supervisor
- Attend department meetings and training sessions as necessary
- Other duties as assigned by Manager and/or Supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proven experience demonstrating leadership, problem-solving, decision-making and delegation skills.
- Proven ability to manage teams, budgets, and projects.
- 3-5 years demonstrated experience in grounds maintenance/terrain park field
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Availability during peak operating times, i.e.: weekends, holidays and special events
JOB KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- Proven knowledge of landscaping and grounds maintenance.
- Experience with landscaping and heavy equipment.
- Proven knowledge of Terrain Park design, building and maintenance.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and department/project related software
- Organized and detail oriented
- Excellent time management and delegation skills
- Ability to work effectively in stressful, high-pressure situations while maintaining composure and guest satisfaction
