Bean There: Café in Princeton, NJ is looking for an Assistant to join our growing team and business. We are located at 2107 Goldfinch Blvd. Our unique grab-and-go café is connected to a co-working space in the heart of a residential community. Ultimately, you’ll ensure an excellent experience for our guests and clients.
This position’s compensation includes a competitive hourly salary and tips.
Café Duties
- Ensures and is accountable for profitability of the store by growing sales and controlling costs of goods, inventory levels, labor, supplies and expenses.
- Ensures that all drink and food recipes and procedures are followed, maintaining the highest quality and consistent product standards.
- Oversees all café cash flow. Able to perform all POS duties.
- Maintains a clean well-merchandised facility, following visual presentation plans and standards.
- Plans, executes, and communicates all sales promotions and new product information effectively and efficiently.
- Manages front and back of house functions, including opening and closing procedures.
- Promotes and practices safe work habits, identifying and resolving potential safety hazards, operational inconsistencies and any team member or customer incidents.
- Oversees all inventory management, including updating inventory lists and amounts, organizing inventory
- storage and identifying ordering needs.
- Manages produce and dairy weekly orders with vendor. Ensures everything is delivered correctly and identifies any issues with the order.
- Gathers order needs for supplies, including cups, lids, syrups, etc. for review. Takes into account catering needs.
- Manages inventory and identifies ordering needs for coffee beans, tea, bottled beverages and retail goods.
- Updating the POS inventory to reflect accurate availability to products and goods.
- Executes on daily, weekly and monthly marketing plans in partnership with the leadership team.
Workspace Duties
- Opens and/or closes the workspace according to protocols.
- Follows the cleaning and sanitization protocols.
- Creates a welcoming environment: assist guests in a friendly, patient and professional manner.
- Checks in guests and guides them to their seats/rooms.
- Supports virtual mailbox processes and clients.
Catering & Events Duties
- Oversees our catering/events program end-to-end, including curation of new clients, supporting inquiries, and event execution.
- Supports event coordination and communication before, during, and after the event with team and clients.
- Leads on-site event execution (set-up, breakdown, and execution) when assigned to catering/event.
Hospitality Duties
- Exemplifies outstanding service and hospitality aligned with the brand standards.
- Proactive in solving customer problems and satisfying customers in various situations.
- Maintains high cleanliness standards consistently throughout the facility in the areas of appearance, merchandise, and equipment.
