As a Surgical Veterinary Technician or Assistant at Bark City Veterinary Specialists, you will play a crucial role in the surgical team, ensuring the safety and well-being of animals undergoing surgical procedures. Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2 years' experience in a veterinary clinic or hospital
- 1 year of experience working with anesthetized patients in prep/surgery/recovery
- Comfortable working with computers, phones, and people
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current certification or licensure as a veterinary technician in the state of Utah.
- Experience in a veterinary surgical setting.
- Experience with advanced surgical techniques and emergency procedures.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment before procedures.
- Assist veterinarians during surgical procedures by providing necessary tools and support.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and anesthesia levels throughout the surgery.
- Scrub in assistant to the surgical specialist
- Provide post-operative care, including administering medications and monitoring recovery.
