About the Role
Ophthalmology practice in Upper Northwest Washington, DC is in need of a skilled, experienced Ophthalmic Technician to work up patients.
Responsibilities
- Manual Refractions
- Tonometry by applanation
- A Scans
- Visual Fields
- OCT
- Assists physicians with minor in office procedures
- Takes patient histories and performs technical work-ups and special tests
- Efficiently documents all pertinent information in patient records via EMR (MEDFLOW) system
- Communicates with patients regarding follow-up care, pre and post-operative care & testing
- Contact Lens Instruction
- Maintains, stocks and cleans all rooms and equipment
- Visual acuity measurements near and far, with and without glasses
- Obtaining Eye glass information manually or via automated lensometry
- Ocular motility screening
- Intraocular pressure tonometry (Goldmann, Slit Lamp, Applanation)
- OCT
- Visual Fields
- A Scan
- Amsler Grid
- NIshihara and/or HRR color vision testing
Qualifications
Experience Required: Three or more years of Ophthalmic Technician experience.
Required Skills
Proficiency in manual refractions, tonometry and A-Scans.
Pay range and compensation package
Salary range of $26 - 32 per hour.
