Sr. Accountant (Contract)

Position Summary

Seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to support the day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting functions of a growing organization. This position will play a key role in the month-end close process, account reconciliations, financial analysis, audit support, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post complex journal entries, accruals, prepaid expenses, and reclassifications.
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations, including bank, balance sheet, and intercompany accounts.
• Month-end and year-end close activities, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Analyze income statement and balance sheet fluctuations and investigate variances.
• Assist with preparation of monthly financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, workpapers, and requested documentation.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting activities.
• Partner with operational departments to research accounting issues and resolve discrepancies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred.
• 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial statement preparation.
• Experience with month-end close, account reconciliations, accruals, and financial reporting.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis functions.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Must reside in the Las Vegas area and be available to work onsite 5 days a week.
