Travel between Beacon's Michigan locations required up to 25% of time. May include occasional weekend or holiday work for emergency situations.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Building Maintenance & Ownership
- Take full ownership of all building maintenance work requests, work orders, and preventative maintenance schedules
- Perform general building maintenance including simple electrical work, plumbing repairs, HVAC filter changes, and door/lock repairs
- Execute painting projects for buildings, small boxes, hoppers, and equipment
- Parts Running
- Inspect property regularly to identify areas for improvement or repairs, promptly reporting unsafe conditions
- Maintain and organize maintenance tools, equipment, and supply inventory
- Own all fire protection systems including fire sprinklers and fire extinguisher maintenance
- Conduct monthly fire extinguisher inspections and coordinate annual certifications
- Monitor fire sprinkler system functionality and coordinate with vendors for testing and repairs
- Maintain accurate records of all fire safety inspections and maintenance
- Maintain outdoor appearance through landscaping tasks including mowing, mulching, raking, planting, and trimming
- Keep property free of debris and rubbish
- Operate grounds maintenance equipment safely and efficiently
- Ensure safe conditions by plowing, shoveling, and snow blowing all pathways and parking areas
- Apply ice melt and sand as necessary to prevent slips and falls
- Be available for immediate response during snow events, including early morning and after-hours callouts
- Perform sweeping inside and outside facilities using industrial sweeping equipment
- Conduct janitorial duties to maintain clean, professional work environments
- Operate sweepers, forklifts, loaders, and other heavy equipment safely
- Perform pre-operation inspections and basic maintenance on equipment
- Complete work orders promptly and safely, prioritizing emergency, preventative, and routine tasks
- Document completed work orders with details of work performed and materials used
- Identify and recommend improvements to maintenance processes
- Provide excellent customer service to visitors and maintain professional appearance
- Travel between Beacon locations as needed (up to 25% of time)
- Collaborate with operations teams to minimize disruption during maintenance activities
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Technical or trade school training in building maintenance preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in building and grounds maintenance or facilities maintenance
- Experience with general building maintenance including electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems
- Experience with fire protection systems preferred
- Previous experience in industrial or commercial facilities preferred
- Valid driver's license required
- Forklift certification required (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- Loader/heavy equipment operation experience preferred
Technical Skills
