Overview
We are seeking a motivated Maintenance Technician with at least two years of hands-on experience to join our team. In this vital role, you will ensure the proper maintenance, repair, and operation of our facilities and equipment. Your expertise will help create safe, comfortable environments for our residents while supporting the smooth functioning of our properties.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on building systems including electrical, plumbing, HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), and mechanical equipment.
- Repair electrical systems and equipment using schematics, hand tools, multimeters such as ohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools.
- Conduct HVAC system repairs and maintenance to ensure optimal climate control across properties.
- Execute plumbing system repairs and maintenance, including pipe repairs, fixture replacements, and leak detection.
- Utilize welding skills for metal repairs and fabrication as needed.
- Maintain facilities equipment including carpentry work, painting (residential painting and maintenance painting), and general interior upkeep.
- Read and interpret schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting complex systems.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing resident maintenance requests promptly and professionally.
- Support maintenance operations by using appropriate tools such as hand tools, electrical equipment repair tools, and safety gear.
Requirements
- Minimum of two years of experience in building maintenance or a related field.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with proficiency in electrical work, plumbing, HVAC systems, welding, and carpentry.
- Experience with electrical equipment repair and facilities maintenance tasks.
- Ability to read schematics and technical diagrams accurately.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is a plus but not required.
- Knowledge of maintenance painting techniques including residential painting is preferred.
- Ability to operate hand tools safely and effectively; experience with electrical work using an ohmmeter or similar diagnostic devices is essential.
- Excellent communication skills in English to coordinate with team members and residents effectively.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
