Position Summary:

We are seeking an exceptionally skilled, proactive, and self-motivated synthetic organic chemist to join our Synthesis Group and support our small-molecule discovery pipeline. This role is focused on the delivery of high-quality compounds on a milligram to multi-gram scale to enable rapid exploration of structure–activity relationships (SAR) in close partnership with our Medicinal Chemistry team.

You will routinely engage with internal project teams and external CRO collaborators to design, enable, synthesize, and characterize drug-like molecules. Your work will be critical to accelerating hit-to-lead and lead optimization efforts and achieving key program milestones in our oncology-focused discovery portfolio.

You will operate in a highly collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment, alongside an innovative and energetic team of chemists dedicated to the mission of delivering impactful therapies to patients with severe cancers.

What you’ll do:

• Deliver small molecule analogs to support SAR campaigns, using modern synthetic methodologies and techniques.
• Design and execute efficient, parallel chemistry routes to generate libraries of compound analogues
• Troubleshoot and optimize challenging reactions with a high degree of independence and creativity.
• Engage regularly with internal project teams and external CRO partners to plan and coordinate synthetic activities.
• Maintain accurate, high-quality records in electronic lab notebooks suitable for patent and regulatory documentation.

Requirements:

• M.S. or Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry or related field with 4 years of industry experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology R&D.
• Experience executing high-throughput parallel chemistry workflows to efficiently deliver libraries of final analogs.
• Deep expertise in modern synthetic organic chemistry and current literature.
• Demonstrated ability to design and execute robust multi-step syntheses, including strategies that allow for late-stage diversification.
• Experience with milligram to decagram-scale synthesis of intermediates and final compounds.
• Skilled in compound purification and structural characterization using NMR, LC-MS, and other analytical methods.
• Experience coordinating with CRO chemists to enable synthetic productivity and troubleshoot challenges remotely.
• Strong record-keeping practices and attention to detail in documentation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to clearly present rationale, progress, and results to team leaders and CRO partners.
