Calling all Cost Accountants!! Our client, a growing manufacturing and operations-driven company located in the Fuquay-Varina, NC area, needs a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Accountant to join their accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys working closely with operations and playing a key role in costing, profitability analysis, and financial accuracy in a dynamic environment.

While working as the Cost Accountant, you will partner with Accounting, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to support accurate costing and financial reporting, with responsibilities including:

• Developing, maintaining, and analyzing standard cost systems for products and materials
• Monitoring and analyzing manufacturing costs, including labor, materials, overhead, and production variances
• Performing monthly cost accounting close activities and reconciliations
• Reviewing inventory valuation and ensuring proper costing methodologies are applied
• Analyzing production yields, scrap, and efficiency metrics, and investigating variances
• Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes related to cost of goods sold and production expenses
• Partnering with operations to understand cost drivers and improve cost accuracy
• Preparing detailed cost reports, variance analyses, and management reporting
• Assisting with inventory reconciliations and ensuring proper classification of costs
• Supporting audits and compliance requirements related to cost accounting and inventory valuation
• Identifying opportunities to improve costing processes, systems, and reporting efficiency

To be considered for this specific position, you would need to have:

• 3-5 years of accounting experience with a strong focus on cost accounting or manufacturing accounting
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Strong understanding of standard costing, variance analysis, and cost of goods sold
• Experience working in a manufacturing, logistics, or operations-heavy environment preferred
• ERP system experience required (multi-location or complex environment preferred)
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication skills with the ability to partner across departments
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
