Position Summary:
Our Medication Access and Refill Management Coordinator plays a key role in supporting our clinical team by managing and processing medication refill requests efficiently and accurately. This position ensures continuity of care for patients by maintaining communication between pharmacies, patients, and providers, while adhering to all clinical and regulatory guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and process prescription refill requests in accordance with provider protocols and practice policies.
Verify patient information, medication history, and eligibility prior to refills.
Communicate with pharmacies, patients, and providers to clarify or resolve prescription issues.
Track refill requests, document activity in the electronic health record (EHR), and ensure timely completion.
Identify refill requests that require provider review and route appropriately.
Maintain confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and other applicable regulations.
Assist with medication prior authorizations, as needed.
Provide administrative support to the clinical team as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or relevant coursework in healthcare preferred.
Prior experience in a medical office, pharmacy, or behavioral health setting strongly preferred.
Knowledge of psychiatric medications and controlled substance protocols is a plus.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Proficiency in EHR systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
