Head of Compliance Operations
We are seeking an experienced Senior Compliance Manager to lead compliance for a growing portfolio of affordable and supportive housing properties. This role will oversee regulatory compliance, manage audits, and support the continued growth of the affordable housing portfolio.
The Senior Compliance Manager will serve as the organization’s internal subject matter expert on affordable housing compliance, working closely with leadership, property management teams, and regulatory agencies.
Job functions:
Compliance Leadership
- Lead the affordable housing compliance function across the portfolio
- Ensure certifications, recertifications, and regulatory reporting are completed accurately and on time
- Develop compliance procedures and tracking systems
- Coordinate with property management and operations teams
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with programs, including but not limited to: LIHTC / CTCAC, LAHD, LACDA, HCD, PBV, VASH, HOPWA, CoC, HOME & Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH)
- Work closely with supportive housing providers such as Brilliant Corners, PATH, and other service partners.
Audits & Monitoring
- Serve as the primary contact for regulatory audits and monitoring reviews.
- Conduct internal compliance audits and file reviews
- Coordinate with agencies and respond to audit findings
Training
- Provide compliance training and guidance to property management teams
- Develop training materials and compliance resources
Portfolio Growth
- Support onboarding of new affordable housing properties
- Provide compliance oversight during property lease-ups
Requirements
- 7 years of affordable housing compliance experience
- Strong experience with LIHTC / CTCAC programs
- Knowledge of LAHD, LACDA, HCD, and other regulatory agencies
- Experience with supportive housing programs including PSH, CoC, PBV, VASH, and HOPWA
- Experience coordinating regulatory audits and monitoring reviews
- Experience overseeing compliance across multiple properties within a portfolio
- Experience training property management teams
- Experience with Yardi or similar property management systems
- Preferred Certifications: HCCP, TCS, COS & SCHM
Compensation: Salary Range: $115,000 – $140,000, depending on experience, plus an auto allowance of $5,000.00 per year.
