Position: Managing Bartender / Closing Captain
Location: Beach Box – 720 North Lake Street, Miller Beach, Gary, IN
Beach Box is currently seeking a disciplined and experienced Managing Bartender to oversee nightly operations and lead our service team. This is a dual-role position requiring high-level mixology skills and firm operational management during closing shifts.
Core Responsibilities
* Operational Oversight: Serve as the primary Manager on Duty for evening shifts, ensuring all staff maintain professional standards and service efficiency.
* Financial Integrity: Responsible for accurate cash handling, including balancing the Toast POS system, reconciling shift reports, and preparing final bank deposits.
* Facility Management: Supervise the "Captain’s Close," ensuring meticulous sanitation of the bar, draft lines, and guest areas in accordance with health safety regulations.
* Guest Relations: Manage floor flow and resolve guest issues with professionalism to maintain a safe and orderly environment.
Professional Requirements
* Licensure: Must possess a valid Indiana Employee Permit (Alcohol Service) and ANSI-certified Food Manager credentials.
* Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated experience with Toast POS is helpful.
* Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a high-volume leadership role (Nightclub, Fine Dining, or Banquet settings preferred).
* Skills: Strong foundational knowledge of classic cocktails, inventory management, and staff supervision.
Compensation & Terms
* Remuneration: Competitive hourly base rate plus participation in the daily tip pool.
* Schedule: Full availability for nights, weekends, and holiday shifts is expected.
