What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bar Manager position at Alpen Haus & The Golf Lodge?
Alpen Haus The Golf Lodge is a new German-inspired restaurant and indoor golf simulator lounge opening Summer 2026 in downtown Valparaiso, Indiana. We are looking for a Bar Manager to run all bar operations and the simulator guest experience.
What you'll do:
- Own the bar and The Golf Lodge simulator side, including drinks, service, and guest experience
- Manage all alcohol purchasing, inventory, and cost control
- Hire, schedule, train, and manage bar and simulator staff (bartenders, bar back, simulator servers)
- Run simulator booking operations, including check-ins, walk-ins, and bay management
- Own POS operations (Toast) on the bar and TGL side
- Build and maintain a cocktail and beverage program alongside ownership
- Handle opening and closing procedures for bar and simulator areas
What we're looking for:
- 2 years of bar management or lead bartender experience in a full-service environment
- Strong knowledge of cocktails, beer, and beverage cost management
- Someone who can manage a room, handling bar guests and simulator guests at the same time
- Experience with inventory, ordering, and vendor relationships
- Comfortable with POS systems (Toast experience a plus)
- Available to start June 2026 for pre-opening training

Alpen Haus is a scratch-kitchen German restaurant with a curated cocktail bar, connected to The Golf Lodge, a 4-bay indoor golf simulator lounge. This is a ground-floor opportunity to help build a new concept from scratch alongside an experienced ownership team.
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
