The Early Childhood Teacher supports a mixed-age classroom through play-based learning, collaborating within a co-teaching team to promote children’s development, safety, and well-being. This role builds strong partnerships with families, documents each child’s progress, and contributes to a nurturing, engaging learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver play-based learning activities for a mixed-age classroom.
- Manage the classroom environment and provide positive behavior guidance.
- Supervise children and maintain compliance with child safeguarding and safety requirements.
- Observe, assess, and document child development and learning progress.
- Maintain daily observations, developmental portfolios, and individual learning plans.
- Communicate daily updates with families and foster ongoing family engagement.
- Collaborate with the co-teaching team on curriculum development and classroom practices.
- Maintain accurate records and support children’s developmental needs with patience and care.
Required Qualifications
- At least 1 year of experience in early childhood education.
- State teaching certification or an early childhood credential.
- Knowledge of early childhood education and child development assessment.
- Skills in curriculum development, classroom management, and behavior guidance.
- Knowledge of child safeguarding practices.
- Strong family communication and observation skills.
- Patience and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
