Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Electrical Project Manager/Estimator to lead and oversee electrical construction projects from bidding to inception of contract to completion. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in electrical estimating, engineering, project management, and construction site coordination. This role requires excellent organizational skills, technical knowledge of system design and schematics, and familiarity with industry standards such as NEC. The Electrical Project Manager/Estimator will coordinate public works take off, estimating and bidding processes, project schedules, manage contracts, and ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage electrical construction projects, ensuring adherence to project scope, schedule, and budget
- Develop detailed project plans using Primavera P6 and other scheduling tools
- Oversee construction site activities, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and system design documents
- Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to facilitate smooth project execution
- Manage contracts, change orders, and procurement processes effectively
- Utilize tools such as ProCore, Bluebeam, HeavyBid for estimating, documentation, and project tracking
- Ensure all work complies with NEC codes and electrical engineering standards
- Monitor project progress through regular site visits and meetings; address issues proactively
- Maintain accurate documentation of project activities, schedules, and budgets
- Implement best practices in construction management and project management to optimize efficiency
Requirements
- Proven experience in electrical estimating/project management, engineering or construction management with a focus on electrical systems
- Strong background in system design, blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and NEC compliance
- Proficiency with Primavera P6 for project scheduling; experience with Primavera P6 is highly preferred
- Familiarity with construction estimating tools such as HeavyBid; experience with Bluebeam and ProCore is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with excellent time management skills
- Knowledge of contracts management and construction site safety protocols
- Prior experience working on construction sites involving electrical systems or infrastructure projects
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and reporting
- Effective communication skills for coordinating teams and stakeholders across various levels of the organization
